LAWIN Vilnius office hosted Select Forum on Governance

LAWIN Vilnius office hosted the second Baltic Management Institute and Ministry of Economy Select Forum on Governance.

The Lithuanian government in 2010 began reviewing corporate governance and management practices in the country – a process that that may result in some improvements to the regulation of companies in Lithuania.

To help the business community participate in and contribute to such developments, BMI has utilised its own extensive links with the local business community and the expertise of its partner business schools abroad to create a Select Forum on Governance for high-level study and advisory.

The Forum gathered Lithuanian new Minister of Economy Rimantas Žylius and more than 20 chief executives and board members from the leading Lithuanian banks and other companies. The Forum discussed management remuneration practices – forms, structures and overall level, relevant for Lithuanian companies, with the particular interest to the State controlled companies. The Forum aims at improving corporate governance practices in Lithuania and bringing more sophistication in the market. The Forum was chaired by LAWIN Vilnius office partner Dovilė Burgienė while managing partner Rolandas Valiūnas and lawyer Robertas Čiočys were among participants.
