LAWIN successfully represents lenders in several aircraft financing transactions in Estonia

For the past few months LAWIN has acted as Estonian legal counsel to international banks and financing institutions in several major aicraft financing and leasing transactions.

Among these, LAWIN advised Erste Group Bank AG in connection with the financing of an acquisition by Rockton Aviation AB of two Saab SF340A aircraft leased to Estonian Air AS. Furthermore, LAWIN assisted Export Development Canada in connection with the structured financing of the acquisition by EA Jet Leasing Ltd from Bombardier of a newly manufactured Bombardier CRJ900 NextGen aircraft and leasing of the same to Estonian Air. LAWIN acted as special joint legal adviser to GE Capital Aviation Services Limited and Graf1 (Aviation) WSA Limited in Estonia in connection with the novation and amendment of a lease agreement relating to a Boeing 737 – 300 aircraft on lease by Estonian Air AS.

LAWIN advised the lenders on Estonian law governed transaction and security documents, as well as served as transaction counsel on all relevant aspects of Estonian aviation, contract, property and commercial law. The transactions were led by partner, Marina Tolmatshova.

Over the past few years, the LAWIN Tallinn team has been involved in most of the aircraft financing transactions in Estonia.
