LAWIN associate Ivars Slokenbergs accompanies the Latvian Prime Minister in an investment promotion visit to the United States

In July 2011, Latvian Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis visited the United States to promote investment in Latvia by US businesses, and to build new ties with major US universities and non-governmental organizations to promote trade, investment and good relations between Latvia and the US.

The Prime Minister’s Government delegation was accompanied by a business delegation, which included LAWIN Associate Ivars Slokenbergs, in his capacity as President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Latvia (AmCham Latvia).  The investment promotion visit included visits to Northern California (San Francisco and Silicon Valley), Southern California (Los Angeles and Orange County), Texas (Austin and Houston) and New York. During the week-long visit, the Prime Minister’s delegation met leading US companies and business interests, in particular in the information technology, high technology, energy, fashion and entertainment and financial sectors. LAWIN Associate Ivars Slokenbergs, as President of AmCham Latvia, assisted the Prime Minister’s office in planning the visit, and he delivered presentations alongside the Prime Minister at business seminars in California, Texas and New York.
