LAWIN associate Mārtiņš Gailis has been registered as a Professional Patent Attorney in Latvia
On 11 November 2010, LAWIN associate and a leading lawyer of the IP practice in Latvia Mārtiņš Gailis successfully passed the qualification examination of professional patent attorneys and was granted the right to be included in the Register of Professional Patent Attorneys by the Patent Office of the Republic of Latvia.
Only professional patent agents may represent foreign entities and natural persons in the Patent Office of the Republic of Latvia, including representation with respect to the registration of trademarks of foreign entities and opposition and appeal proceedings in the Board of Appeal of the Patent Office of the Republic of Latvia. Among 78 persons registered as patent attorneys, there are only 16 representatives from law firms.
Mārtiņš is the third lawyer of the LAWIN Riga office, registered as a professional patent agent in trademark matters in Latvia.
