LAWIN strengthens its environmental and land law practice and invites well known experts in these fields

LAWIN continues to develop its business and from October 1, 2012 welcomes two new experts to its team: the attorneys Ema Būtėnienė and Tomas Šliogeris, who had previously worked at their own law firm, Šliogeris, Būtėnienė ir partneriai.

The new LAWIN team members are experts in the legal area of environmental protection; their competence and experience will contribute greatly to strengthening and expanding the LAWIN Real Estate and Environmental practice in Vilnius.

 

Ema Būtėnienė and Tomas Šliogeris have practised environmental law for more than 15 years and have extensive experience in various legal areas, including taxes for environmental pollution, waste management, environmental impact assessment, use of land resources, compensation of damage to the environment, climate change, planning of areas and construction, pollution and integrated prevention, and other environmental areas. These lawyers have a track record of successful representation of their clients at court with respect to fines and other administrative and legal sanctions for environmental violations. The new members of the LAWIN team are also actively involved in drafting feasibility studies, etc. related to waste management, renovation of apartment buildings, administrative capabilities of the public sector, and implementation of EU law in Lithuania; they have also conducted dozens of seminars in environmental areas and have experience in international institutions.

The LAWIN Real Estate and Environmental Practice Group will in particular focus on services such as the quality of the environment and pollution of the environment: permits on integrated pollution prevention and control (IPPC), taxes for pollution of the environment, waste management, climate change and negotiable pollution permits (NPP), assessment of the environmental impact of planned economic activities, land resources and their use, state control of environmental protection, compensation of damage to the environment, etc.
